CLASSIC GARDEN
A timeless quality

Design and build constraints:
New build property
Large front and rear garden
Severely compacted soil and waterlogging onsite
Timeless style
Specimen trees
A new build house which is part of a 25-acre gated development of 116 new-build homes and 10 restored, refurbished and converted properties. The garden’s classic design style brings a timeless elegance and structured beauty to this large family garden, offering both aesthetic appeal and functional outdoor living.
The garden was not without it’s problems, being waterlogged over the wetter months due to severe soil compaction caused during the build phase and, as is true of so many new builds, being very overlooked.
Rooted in symmetry and balance, the borders have neatly clipped Euonymus hedges, a sweeping lawn and thoughtfully placed focal points of feature containers. Planting areas are filled with seasonal colour from perennials and roses and structure comes in the form of clipped evergreen balls and specimen trees such as Magnolia grandiflora and Prunus lusitanica angustifolia. Overall, this creates a sense of order and calm that’s perfect for relaxation and gatherings alike.
Designed with family in mind, this garden incorporates a spacious patio for relaxing, dining and summer BBQs; a secondary seating area enclosed by an oak pergola to enjoy quiet moments; and a play space with large lawn encouraging a chance to explore nature and for outdoor activities for all ages. Climber Trachelospernum jasminoides has been woven onto tensile wires to make a highly decorative Belgium trellis work. along the fencing.
This garden transforms a large space into a sanctuary for connection, celebration, and everyday enjoyment.
