FRONT GARDEN MEADOW

Bulbs & wild flowers

Design and build constraints:

  • Existing lawn to be meadowturf

  • Additional bulbs & planting to compliment and extend season

  • Increase biodiversity

The small existing lawn area of this front garden was replaced with a meadowturf which would require minimum mowing, therefore be low maintenance. Additional plants, such as Thalictrum ‘Black Stockings’ and Geranium phaeum ‘Lily Lovell’, were added to the borders and selected to look at home in a meadow setting. Bulbs such as Narcissus, Erythronium, Bluebells and Galanthus were planted through the meadowturf in large quantites to put on a performance early in the year.
